Deputy Digital Director, Political Campaigns – Washington, D.C.

ABD Direct is a full-service direct response fundraising communications consulting firm. ABD Direct has a long history of developing integrated programs and forward-thinking direct response fundraising solutions. We’ve worked on President Obama’s ‘08 and ‘12 campaigns as well as campaigns for Senators Durbin, Udall, Hagen and Secretaries Kander and Lundergan Grimes.

We’re expanding our digital department and are looking for a Deputy Digital Political Director to join our team. The ideal candidate is creative, dedicated, energetic, and a self-starter with a strong passion for progressive politics.

Key Responsibilities

    • Work with company leadership to develop a strategy to cultivate business from existing relationships, expand existing clients, generate qualified leads from new clients, and assist in pitches
    • Serve as a senior account lead, overseeing program direction, strategy, and goals
    • Help with staff management as the team grows and assist the Senior Digital Director in acquiring talent and expanding the department
    • Write or contribute to strategic briefs and help lead brainstorming sessions
    • Manage client relationships as well as relationships with other vendors
    • Oversee acquisition and advertising strategies and optimization
    • Launch and manage Facebook and Google Search ads and recommend future strategies based on results
    • Develop and streamline internal processes to ensure efficiency and high quality control standards
    • Work to integrate direct mail and digital strategies to improve the donor experience
    • Engage with industry stakeholders and stay abreast of emerging technology, and represent ABD Direct at industry events, both through attendance and presentations
    • Assist with and oversee email writing and production
    • Build fundraising projections and manage budgets

Experience and Qualifications

    • 4-7 years experience in digital fundraising or online marketing for progressive candidates and/or organizations
    • Experience managing all aspects of email campaigns, advocacy programs, and social media
    • Significant client-facing experience
    • Strong writing and editing skills
    • Demonstrated understanding of email and digital advertising best practices and benchmarks
    • Significant experience implementing and optimizing ads on Facebook Business Manager and Google AdWords
    • Experience with budgeting and building out accurate fundraising projections
    • Mastery of CRM platforms and knowledge of HTML/CSS needed to set up, troubleshoot, and launch emails
    • Ability to develop and review reporting materials to best optimize online strategy
    • Actively participates in developing client strategy, suggesting new creative ideas and strategies to test and optimize
    • Adept at planning, prioritizing, organizing, following through deadline-oriented projects

Digital Account Coordinator, Political Campaigns – Washington, D.C.

This position has excellent growth potential and will include exposure to high-level facets of the organization’s operations. Key Responsibilities

    • Develop comprehensive online strategies for political campaigns and organizations
    • Assist with managing online acquisition campaigns to grow email lists
    • Write email copy for fundraising and petition sends
    • Build relationships with clients and campaigns to clearly articulate online goals and strategy
    • Manage and work within client CRM tools to build emails and maintain healthy email lists
    • Support business development and client acquisition efforts
    • Create reporting materials for internal discussion and client presentations
    • Help launch and manage Facebook and Google Search ads and optimize delivery based on results
    • Produce outgoing materials, ensuring they have been properly vetted and proofed and delivered on time
    • Develop social media content and calendars, and schedule posts and monitor engagement
    • Manage relationships with other vendor partners involved with the clients
    • Assist with various administrative tasks as necessary

Experience and Qualifications

    • 2-3 years experience in digital fundraising or online marketing — experience in Democratic politics is a huge plus
    • Experience working with or understanding of Facebook Business Manager, Google AdWords and Analytics
    • Experience working on email campaigns, advocacy programs, and social media
    • Strong writing and editing skills
    • Ability to work directly with clients and executives
    • Proven experience multi-tasking and a keen eye for little details
    • Demonstrated understanding of email and digital advertising best practices and benchmarks
    • Knowledge of CRM platforms
    • Understanding of HTML/CSS needed to set up, troubleshoot, and launch emails
    • Experience with Photoshop and graphic design is a plus

Account Executive – Washington, D.C.

          • Executes strategy and responsible for the development of all mailplans and listplans.
          • Develops reporting as needed and assists with analysis (identifying needs or performing these projects if able.)
          • Drives the participation of all strategy memos, either developing wholesale, or ensuring those who need to contribute do.
          • Actively participates in developing client strategy, suggesting new creative ideas, testing strategy and other ideas to support the overall success of the client.
          • Develops and implements annual communications calendar.
          • Provides support in annual budget development and track performance to budget.
          • Serves as the primary client contact.
          • Leads client and internal meetings
          • Represents ABD Direct at industry events, both through attendance and presentations.
          • Manage relationships with other fundraising vendors involved with the clients.

Digital Account Coordinator – Washington, D.C.

We are looking for a Digital Account Coordinator to join our team. The Digital Account Coordinator is a key member of a team, working with a Strategist, Creative Director, and Analyst. He/she is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and implementation of digital and multichannel campaign strategies. The ideal candidate is creative, dedicated and energetic, with a passion for helping progressive causes change the world. The Digital Account Coordinator will work with a variety of clients on both digital and integrated digital/direct mail programs.

Specific responsibilities include maintaining detailed schedules, trafficking copy, managing online advertising campaigns, quality assurance, social media posting, extracting data from eCRM systems, and preparing reports based on that data. Responsibilities may vary depending on experience. This position has excellent growth potential, and will include exposure to high-level facets of the organization’s operations.

Experience and Qualifications

          • 1-3 years experience in digital marketing or an equivalent combination of related training and relevant experience; nonprofit experience a plus
          • Experience working on email campaigns, advocacy programs, and social media
          • Strong writing and editing skills
          • Intense attention to detail with strong self-organization skills
          • Mastery of HTML/CSS needed to set up, troubleshoot, and launch emails
          • Demonstrated understanding of email and digital advertising best practices and benchmarks
          • Experience working with Facebook Advertising, Google AdWords and Analytics
          • Knowledge of e-CRM platforms such as Luminate, EveryAction, Engaging Networks, and Salesforce

The Account Assistant plays a key role on account teams supporting both the internal teams as well as the client making sure that we are exectuing on our strategic plan to support the fundraising goals of our client partners.

Key Responsibilities

          • Assists team with all aspects of direct mail production.
          • Manages cost estimate development, invoicing and cost reconciliation.
          • Supports the development of all creative assets and coordinates edits with designers and the team.
          • Monitors and tracks all jobs across all channels and updates weekly schedule. Keeps all members of the team up to date.
          • Serves as primary proofreader for all materials being develop for clients.
          • Assists with management of inventory and print management.
          • Responsible for sample management in DC office.
        • Other administrative duties as required.

Experience and Qualifications:

          • Knowledge of basic MS Office programs.
